The Outreach Committee was created by the Session in early 2005 as the "Marketing
Dept" of Westminster Presbyterian Church. In view of these facts . . .
1. The Evangelism Committee had ceased to function.
2. The growth of the church was our primary goal.
3. Greater exposure to the community was desirable to help achieve that growth.
The Committee was charged with undertaking activities that would contribute to
increased community awareness of Westminster church as active, and positive.
Among the projects undertaken by the Outreach Committee:
- Creating and maintaining a web site.
- Creating and distributing a church brochure. The distribution of the brochure includes a mailing to new residents in Fairfield
Glade.
- Creating and securing a supply of refrigerator magnets with worship times and contact numbers for the church. These have
been included in the mailing to new residents and are available to visitors at worship.
- Using the lighted sign on Peavine Road to announce sermon titles and other important information.
- Securing regular coverage of activities in the local newspapers.
- Securing golf shirts with the Presbyterian emblem for purchase by members.
- Maintaining information on Fairfield Glade Cable Channel 11.
