Role of the Facilities Management Committee


Organization Structure: The Facilities Management Subcommittee shall be a standing subcommittee of the Finance Committee.

Chairman: The Chairman of this committee shall be a Session designee, not necessarily an active Elder.

Committee Members: The Chairman may appoint up to three members to assist him/her in conducting the  Committee business.

Term of Office: The term of office shall be three years.

Reporting: The Chairman shall report to the Session whenever there is something to report.

Duties of Committee:

Members of this committee shall be responsible

  • for monitoring the building lease and conduct negotiations with the Landlord under guidance of the Session. The Elder designated by the Session must sign lease or lease amendments.
  • for alterations to the physical structure.
  • for coordination with the Landlord's representative for repairs and maintenance that are the responsibility of the Lessor.
  • for repairs and maintenance that are the responsibility of the Lessee.
  • for the assets of the church, which include the sound system.
  • for seeing that the lights are burning outside, i.e. lights on sign, overhead lights on overhang, etc. This includes cutting back the bushes that may stop lights from shining on signs.
